BRANCH AIRLINE PILOT AND FLIGHT OPERATIONS


 

GOALS

  • Enrich candidates' curriculum by increasing job vacancies and reducing potential risks arising from the activity (eg Pilot and annual medical examinations);
  • Maintain the same length of degree with obtaining an Airline Pilot license.

ATPL RULES: EASA / ANAC / IFA

  • Minimum number of students to open a class: 12 students
  • Maximum class enrollment - 18 students
  • 3 years to complete the ATPL course since enrollment (theory + practice);
  • The 14 ATPL disciplines with 14 exams to take at ANAC;
  • Maximum of 6 exam seasons to complete the 14 subjects;
  • Maximum of 4 exams / discipline;
  • Maximum of 18 months, starting from the 1st exam at ANAC, to complete the 14 exams;
  • Any failure to comply with the above rules implies the total loss of the ATPL course;
  • Examination seasons at ANAC last for 2 consecutive weeks and take place in the last 2 weeks of the odd months: Ex. Jan, mar, may…;
  • For access to ANAC exams, the student must perform an internal test with a rating equal to or higher than 80%;
  • The ANAC exam must be completed with a rating of 75% or higher.

CHALLENGES - LICENSING + ATPL:

  • Intensive program with increased demands on students;
  • The curricular programs of both courses are convergent, maintaining the total duration of the degree;
  • Beginning in September of each year, duration of 3 years;
  • The 14 ATPL subjects will be taught during the first year of the course;
  • ANAC exams (4 + 5 + 5), in January, March and July;
  • Didactic material supporting the implementation of the ATPL provided by the IFA;
  • The initial phase of flight is scheduled for the end of the first year and should end at the beginning of the third year.

MEDICAL EXAMS:

An applicant wishing to enroll in the Aeronautical Sciences Degree at the same time as ATPL must take the aeronautical medical examinations in advance at UCS - Address: R. B, Praça Aeroporto, Lisbon - Telephone: 218436300 (next to the airport, NAVE and ANAC) .

Mastery of English, Spoken and Written
Level 4 English Certificate (minimum) for non-European citizens
