This curricular unit aims to describe the relationship between biology (biochemistry, physiology and genetics) and human behavior. The main biological structures and processes specialized in the individual's response to daily environmental stimuli will be studied.

The constitution, function, properties and regulation of the human nervous and endocrine systems will be studied, so that the student can relate their regulatory function with manifest behaviors.

Knowledge, identification, characterization and mechanisms of action of various chemicals at the brain level will lead to the understanding of the biochemical basis of pathologies and dysfunctions in individuals or groups, developing in the student the critical capacity for understanding and analyzing behavioral phenomena. The acquired knowledge will enable the student to take a more grounded approach to intervention with particular individuals or groups.

Conceive animation as a tool for social intervention, which tends to favor and develop communication, socialization and creativity.

Develop a language that encourages fantasy and the pleasure of participating proactively in community life.

Learning to work in a team, to manage teams and foster a sense of belonging to a group.

Promote the conscious movement of individuals and groups, which tends to adapt, change and build permanent socio-cultural language relationships between them.

Develop socio-cultural animation projects: understand and experience the animator's action in a perspective of social and community intervention.

Analyze the importance of social and community animation practices for the development of individuals, groups and communities.

Knowing how to intervene in the most diverse areas of social work, contributing to community development: intervening socially with children, young people, the elderly and socially excluded groups; intervene in an intergenerational manner; in the area of health education; in a family and school context, with migrants and ethnic minorities and with groups at risk.
